I'm proudly say, that I'm a Disney's princess fairy tale stories freak... And from all of those stories, the most cherished and loved story is the story of Cinderella. I don’t know why but till today I'm still mesmerized by the story of Cinderella. I even bought many Cinderella themed merchandises. There's no such thing as bored when it comes to watching Cinderella movies, i forget how many times I've watched the movies and still i kept falling in love with the stories again and again.

When I was a little girl, Cinderella  is the first Disney's movie that i watched. A simple story, which IMO, packed into a beautiful movie, especially after it being regenerated and remarked to the latest live 2015 version. A Fantasy princess themed fairy tale that comes from England, carefully crafted by Disney in accordance with its time. Simply said, I’m awed by the movie. 

The first Cinderella by Disney is made on 1950. The scenario is written by Chris Weits, being produced by David Baron, Simon Kinberg and Allison Sheamur under Walt Disney Picture. The story itself is a fairy tale that is wrote by Charles Perrault, a French author that's born on 12 January 1628.

Cinderella is a fairy tale that told a story about a beautiful girl named Ella, that's born from a perfect family, with a wealthy father and a beautiful lovely mother, both which gives Ella a beautiful life filled with love. But when Ella started to become a teenager, sequence of bad things start to come and shatter the beautiful story on Ella's life.

It started when Ella's mother started to get a sickness that eventually ended up fatally for her, leaving Ella and her father shattered by the loss of their beloved mother and wife. Ella knows that the departure of her mother or her father beloved wife's leave a hollow in her father's heart. She couldn’t  bear to see her father kept longing for his passed away soul mate, so when someday, when her father asked Ella's permission to remarry again, it didn’t take Ella long to give her father the permission that he asked.

At first Ella is happy to know that her father finally got someone that can fill the hollow that's left by her passed away mother, especially knowing that her new stepmother is a widow with two daughters  around her age. In her thought they would make a great family with her and her father. But as time goes by, Ella soon learned that the reality is far from what she'd fantasied when he approved her father request to marry her stepmother..

Shocking to know that it turns out that her new step sisters is a lazy, bullying, spoiled step sisters and to add more salt to the wound, her stepmother is far from what Ella had in mind about a mother that's kind towards her and love her as a mother should be... 

On that forest Ella accidently met with a handsome prince that told her that he's a mere servant for the king to hunt on that forest. Both of them made a quite memorable meeting and from there the seed of love is start growing between them. After a while, it was known that the king wants his prince to start to look for his future queen, so  he decided to held a ball on the castle and invited all the royal family princess from the all the kingdom to be introduced to the prince. The prince agreed with a term that the invitation is spread not only to the royals but also the commoners, in hope of finding the girl that he met on the forest.

Word spread out fast and all the invitation is sent through out the country, when it arrived at Ella's stepmother's hand, she immediately prepared both of her daughter to attend the ball with the most preparation possible, in hope that one of them can become the prince's queen. The same goes with Ella although the same treatment is not given toward her by her stepmother, she's still excited to attend the ball using only used dress left behind by her beloved mother. With the help of her beloved pet mousses, she finally managed to sew and clean her late mother dress into a usable one. When things is all set , Ella faced another bitter reality when her stepmother and daughter mock her dress and rip apart the carefully sewn and cleaned dress left by her mother, then they left her behind in sadness and brokenhearted knowing that she cannot attend the ball.

Ella then cried at the garden, while crying she realized that there’s a person there on the garden, that person looked weak and exhausted so Ella asked if she's ok, the person ask Ella for some meal and milk, which Ella gives without any negative thoughts. Suddenly the mysterious person turn into a fairy god mother, she explained to Ella that she’s been watching all of Ella kindness and decide to help her tonight in attending the ball.. With her magic she transformed a chariot from a pumpkin, horses from Ella mice, coachman from the geese and henchman from lizards. 

She then transformed the ragged dress that Ella wore into a beautiful dress and gives Ella a pair of glass shoe. She then told Ella to enjoy the night at the ball but right before she let Ella go, she warned her that all this magic will only last till midnight and that Ella must come home before the magic runs out and everything turns back to what it used to be. 

So of Ella goes to the ball, where she finally meet with her mystery man from the forest, where she finally learned that the man was actually a prince and where she spend the rest of that evening with the happiness that never before she felt while she was living with her stepmother.

But all good comes to an end, she almost forgot that the magic ends on midnight. So when the clock tower start to ring to signal that midnight has come, she left the prince on a rush, leaving him confused about Ella's identity and half of the glass shoe that Ella lost while she's rushing towards home.

It was a magical night for Ella and for her, that's more than enough memory for her to keep without expecting anything more.. So at home she keep her other glass shoe hidden and continue her ordinary life as it used to..

To keep it short, in the end the king passed away, and the prince started a contest to find the mysterious girl that left him that night for him to make her, his queen. All woman from across the country is being summoned and visited in attempt to find the girl that stole his heart. Until finally, despite the failed attempt of Ella's stepmother to prevent her from trying the shoes, the prince found out that Ella is the girl that left him at the ball, the girl the stole his heart from the moment they met at the forest and asked her to become his queen ruling the kingdom with him which of course Ella accepted and both of them lived happily ever after..

The film makes those of us that have only been reading the Cinderella story books, see directly in live movie the imaginations that we had imagined. Although I used to watch the cartoon version, but the 2015 Cinderella movie is very different. Either on the story line, to the quotes on the story that always remind us of the courage to dream and keep doing good.

The difference with the cartoon version of Cinderella is that, apart from the picture, the story line is more detailed in the human version of Cinderella. As example, such as how the movie told us about the history of how in the beginning Cinderella's parents passed away so she ended living with her step family or the process of how she ended up meeting with the prince.

In the cartoon version of the movie the main quote is "A Dreams Is A Wish Your Heart Makes", while in the 2015 Cinderella movie the primary quote is "Have Courage And Be Kind".


Then if in the cartoon version, the Prince's father is reportedly still alive up to the time where the Prince marrying Cinderella, then in the live movie version, the Prince's father were told deceased before the time the Prince and Cinderella got married.

Not to mention all the extraordinary effects that's created in this movie. Disney has always been able to make a fictional story becomes almost real as they for me seem almost like a dream world that came true hahahahha..

The similarities between the cartoon and the human version of the movie is, of course, on the story line of an orphan girl that was finally taken as a wife by a Prince. A girl who experienced many unpleasant events and finally she is happy.


What made me curious is, precisely how the continuation of the life of Cinderella. I've one watched a cartoon version that finnaly one of Cinderella's stepsister named Anastia turned into a good girl and eventually married someone.

The message of this story is that we should not be afraid to dream, though perhaps some people say our dreams were not possible. We should not fear the opinions of people, we have to believe in our dreams. Moreover, whatever happened to you (bad things), you should keep being a good person. Even though all the things around the world makes you sick, you should keep being good. Forgiving is one of the example, though I feel that its not an easy thing for us human beings who have ego, but do hold on to the principle that "Where there is kindness, there is a goodness. And where there is goodness, there is magic."
